Age & Fitness

Age is no barrier and all levels of fitness are catered for. Travel insurance is compulsory. If your age, health and fitness level is accepted by a travel insurer we are happy to have you on a tour. All tours include some walking. Although not overly strenuous, some sites cannot be appreciated to their full extent without some walking over rough ground. In situations where more than an easy stroll is required, you will have the option of visiting other areas of a site or opt for a less strenuous activity nearby.

Children over 10 years are welcome when accompanied by at least one parent. Persons with disabilities are welcome providing they are accompanied by a person to provide all necessary assistance, including boarding and alighting from buses. Disabled persons must accept that not all places visited have disabled access to bathrooms etc. Some tours are not suitable for those restricted to wheelchairs (eg the Andean region of South America). Please consult with the operator regarding the suitability of specific tours prior to booking.

Clothing & Footwear

All tours require a moderate amount of walking. Please ensure that you have comfortable walking shoes or boots. Please consult with the tour leader for each specific tour for suggestions regarding clothing.

Please limit luggage to one suitcase or travel pack and one piece suitable for carrying on to an aircraft. Excess luggage will be deemed to be that declared excess by any air carriers. Porterage of luggage at hotels is not included but will be available at some locations.

Costs vary between countries. A recommended daily budget for each tour will be available prior to departure. Advice regarding currency exchange and means to handle money overseas will also be available. The operator takes no responsibility for budget planning and offers advice based on previous experience but cannot predict fluctuations in currency exchange, inflation or personal spending patterns.

All tour leaders will be appraised of any security and safety warning for each country prior to departure. This will be as advised by the Dept of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
